On October 16th, Simon Fraser University's Harbour Centre campus is hosting BookCamp Vancouver, an unconference geared toward looking at "Exploring New Ideas in Books, Publishing and the Future of Reading." While the conference is at the moment full, they are still taking registrations for the waiting list and the all-day event is free.
Speakers and content for debate and discussion have been larger developed online using wiki software, and everything from looking at how to market materials online to new business models for publishing and selling.
If anyone is already attending as well and wishes to hook up, that's great. I'm hoping to post about what happens and what I learn from the event.
